Collect Feedback With A QR Code!

QR (Quick Response) code has become more common now. We use the square black and white code more frequently during the pandemic.

There is no official figure on what percentage of smartphone users use QR codes, but QR code readers are included in many mobile applications from banking to shopping and transactions can be made through QR codes.

Japanese invention

The QR code was invented by the Japanese company Denso Wave and first used in 1994. It was developed to easily track the serial numbers of automotive parts. With the introduction of the internet into our lives, internet addresses are also added to the QR code.

The Japanese invention, the QR code, has an active use in every aspect of life in Japan. From grocery shopping to identity verification, the Japanese have been using the QR code for more than 20 years.

Practical and affordable solution

You may ask why there is a need for a QR code. In a period when everything has moved to digital, all the devices we use have started to connect to the internet. From the phone in our pocket to the television in our home, all electronic devices are now connected to the internet. Automobiles have also started to connect to the internet.

In the online world we can navigate by clicking or tapping on links. In the offline world, we cannot click or tap on links. It is quite difficult to enter the links manually on our phone. With QR code, it is possible to make a quick transition from the offline world to the online world using only a QR code reader application without having to manually enter web addresses.

For more than 20 years, QR code has been bridging the gap between the offline and online worlds, and its usage area is growing day by day. It is now possible to withdraw money from an ATM or log in to a website with a QR code. QR codes can sometimes appear as a ticket, sometimes as a discount coupon.

Sometimes QR codes provide the most practical method to switch between devices.

Far Easterners loved it, Westerners kept their distance

The QR code has attracted the most attention in its homeland of Japan and other Far Eastern countries. In Japan and South Korea, QR codes are prominent in every aspect of life. In China, the QR code craze has started recently. With the addition of an integrated QR code reader to WeChat, the country’s most popular messaging app, the rise of the QR code in China suddenly began.

In Western countries, the use of QR codes was not as widespread as in the Far East. However, with the rise of contactless transactions during the pandemic, QR code became widespread.

Smartphones capable of reading QR codes

There were two obstacles to the widespread use of QR codes in Turkey. The first one was the low rate of smartphone usage. In recent years, smartphone penetration in Turkey has increased from 20% to 90%.

The other obstacle was that smartphones needed a QR code reader application to read the QR code. The cameras of some early Android phone models worked as QR code readers, but this feature was not carried over to later models.

Apple added QR code reading capability to its cameras starting with its mobile operating system iOS 11. On Android phones, we see that brands have similarly added a QR code reading feature to the camera application. Apart from that, the Google app has been capable of reading QR codes for a long time. Just open the Google app and click on the QR code icon next to the search box.

QR codes ready for your customers

Wiseback also offers a QR code channel for businesses to manage their customer experience. A QR code is automatically generated for each survey published. You can immediately start collecting feedback from your customers by printing the QR code.

If you have added business variables to your form, a QR code specific to each business variable is also generated by the system.

Your QR code in vector format

Wiseback allows you to download QR codes in PNG and SVG formats. Using the vector SVG format, you can use the QR code anywhere you want, any size you want, always in high resolution without loss of quality.  You can even put a QR code in SVG format on the wall of a metre-sized building if you wish. In this way, your users can read the QR code you publish even from metres away.

Wiseback offers an editor screen for you to prepare your QR code printouts. With the QR code output option, you can get your QR code printouts in the desired output format on the output editor screen.

Print on label paper

You can also print on label paper. In the Page Properties, select the output on label paper option and enter the dimensions of the label paper. Once you have organised your QR code output for a single label sheet, you can easily print it on the whole label sheet at once.

Download ad-free QR code reader for free

You can download Wiseback’s app with QR code reader for free from AppStore and Google Play.  With the Wiseback app you can read all QR codes except surveys created in Wiseback. You can use the app as an advanced QR code reader by selecting symbols in the settings.
